What is Steel Prop/Prop Shoring/Post Shore
Steel props, also known as adjustable steel props or steel acrow props, are temporary supports used in construction to provide vertical support to formwork, walls, ceilings, or other structural elements. They are commonly used in conjunction with scaffolding or formwork systems.
Steel props consist of two main components: an outer tube and an inner tube. The outer tube is usually larger in diameter and has holes or slots at regular intervals, while the inner tube fits inside the outer tube and can be adjusted to the desired height by extending or retracting it. The inner tube is typically threaded at the ends to allow for easy adjustment and securing with a locking mechanism, such as a pin or collar.
To use steel props, the inner tube is extended to the desired height and secured in place, often by inserting a steel pin through one of the holes or slots in the outer tube. The props are then positioned vertically under the load-bearing structure or formwork and adjusted as necessary to provide adequate support.
Steel props are preferred for their strength, durability, and versatility. They can support heavy loads and are adjustable to accommodate various heights and configurations. Additionally, steel props are reusable, making them a cost-effective solution for temporary support in construction projects.
